I am sitting on a plaid rug in the middle of a perfectly manicured lawn edged with bamboo and an abundance of hydrangea in every possible shade through deep lavender to the babiest of pinks.
We are here this morning to photograph the newly packaged Soilse candle collection at Kilena house, Baltimore, West Cork.
For me it is very fitting as this is where the seeds of an idea were planted when we began to visit here over seven years ago. The magnificent semi tropical gardens, lush green lawns and wooded walkways leading down to the river have always provided endless enjoyment and inspiration.
The Coppinger family who manage the estate have become good friends over the years and now their children and ours roam the woods together in search of dragons and knights.
I was overjoyed this year to be asked to stock the Soilse ‘Wild West Cork” candle in all apartments.
Along with Lough Ine which I will share with you in another blog, this truly is one of West Cork’s best kept secrets.
